TL;DW: Hi, it's Brian from Intuitive Swimming Method. While I primarily focus on front crawl, I have gone through my own journey with butterfly and learned techniques from other teachers. The opinions on the undulation in butterfly vary, with different sources suggesting it should start from the hips, legs, chest, or head. However, I believe that swimming butterfly as a whole body and noticing the movement and connection from fingers to toes allows for a more intuitive swimming experience. It's easier and more natural.
